Smarts & Arts is a place to empower a child’s creativity and enrich academic skills through project inspired activities. Imagination, planning, and hands-on activities are highly integrated. Classes are small and maximize individualized support, respecting each childs’ goals and pace of learning.
My passions are teaching, creating, and learning. I worked in education for about a decade before having my daughters and becoming a homeschooling mom. I love assisting children in the process of project learning. I’ve taught math, reading, writing, and science.
I have an extensive background in intellectual, academic, and social development, customizing learning plans, and consultation. I draw upon this knowledge to “reach while I teach”. I’ve also organized programs, as well as worked as a homeschool teacher in various settings, and while heavy in writing, authored a bestseller.
