    Whether your child loves or doesn’t love writing they can have fun with words in this class. Children can choose from different structures to create a writing masterpiece. It might be a nonfiction how-to, narrative story, or poem. Activities will support children in learning how to efficiently research, plan, and organize thoughts and ideas. We will have fun with jump-off activities around our masterpieces, such as acting out what we’ve created or doing oral presentations, for example. $20 per class

  • Wed 1 1:30- 12:30

    Learn about mathematics by studying designs such as basic Fibonacci sequences found in nature. We will explore the many things in our environments, from flowers to food that have come to be because of numbers. Children will engage in pattern reasoning to gain understanding of the numbers behind the beauty through examination, replication, and creation of their own designs. Different spiral techniques will turn into cats, snails, and more! We’ll get inspired by inventions that have been influenced by numbers in nature. Everyone will walk away with an individual art piece inspired by their own number pattern. $17 per class (materials included) Lunch bunch option 12:30-1:00

  • Wed 1-2

    Children will learn the value of earning, saving, and spending money, along with heightening problem solving and communication skills. Engaging in mock scenarios of different real-life business activities will help children learn how a business is run. They will learn the back and front end that’s necessary to create, finance, and manage a store. $18 per class *(ideal for ages 8-12 but 7 ok)

  • Thurs 1-2

    Does your child love to read or listen to stories? Children will explore, examine, and discuss various aspects of storytelling and writing narratives. Each child will, wearing the authors’ hat, draft their own story scene and build a 3D model representation. This class will help children connect with the page, inspiring them to get their thoughts and ideas onto paper, as well as support applying the standard conventions of english. $20 per class (materials included)

  • Fridays 11:00 – 12:30

    In collaboration with Ridgefield Performing Arts Center, a local artist and fashion teacher will guide children in the drawing and design of their own unique creations. Children will learn about the past and present history of fashion and their connections, how to develop proper forms, and explore various patterns, fabrics, textures, and colors. They will create their own fashion boards, with 3 designs. They will visit a store “next door” for hands on texture experiences during one of the classes. This class is held at a local art studio where the students can utilize necessary materials as they follow along with step-by-step demonstrations and engage in artistic self-discovery.

    *Studio is located in downtown Ridgefield. This class meets on 11/1 – 12/13. No class 11/29. $30 per class (materials incl)
